Katherine Heigl has opened up about her childhood living in "a White bubble." She also shares how that realization has affected the parenting style of her adopted children that are multiracial. In recent episodes of "Firefly Lane", "Grey's Anatomy" and "Grey's Anatomy" actor Katherine Heigl admitted that she did not care about the color of her skin until she came across her adopted sister who was from South Korea. "I inquired of my sister, Meg whether she'd been treated one way when she was out in public with our parents, and another way when she went out by herself without them. She said: 'Oh Sure, I've witnessed everything I've seen it all! Heigl admitted to her parents that this made her realize the extent of her ignorance. She confessed that she was angry and felt that she had to channel this anger to help her daughters. Heigl is married to Josh Kelley for 13 years they have a son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. They have adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 years old in 2009. then Adalaide aged 8 who is now young and Black in 2012.
