Richard B. Cheney is a distinguished American public servant, businessman as well as a politician. Cheney is a recognizable name in Washington over the years. George W. Dick Cheney is a former chief of staff to the President. He also served in Congress as well as Secretary of Defense. He is a true gentleman, who has the respect of all Republicans and Democrats. Cheney claims that the role he plays in the Obama administration as of a frank but discreet adviser to Bush. Cheney was the first to accept the Republican Vice-Presidential nomination in 2007, stated that his hopes were high for being under a President who can work across political lines and work with political rivals through goodwill and a shared goal. Richard Bruce Cheney (born January 30th, 1941) was the son of Richard Herbert Cheney. His mother, Marjorie Lauraine Dickey had been engaged with Richard Herbert Cheney for over thirty years. At the age of 13 Richard and his family moved across Nebraska, eventually moving to Casper which was where his dad worked as director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservation district.
